This two-sided dichromatic enamelled pendant was inspired by the beauty of the rose windows and the patterns used to create them.

Rose windows differ in so many ways very elaborate and multi-coloured but I decided to work with simple and repeating of patterns and colours.

I noticed that some patterns in the rose windows are found in Isishweshwe fabric. Isishweshwe is a printed dyed cotton fabric extensively used for traditional South African clothing, the fabric is mass-produced in a variety of colours and printed designs identified by the intricate geometric patterns. This lead me to my next project where I used Isishweshwe fabric.

My intention is to continue using Isishweshwe fabric to create a line in Contemporary African Aesthetic Jewellery
